Dr Mehwish Matthias

Mehwish (Mev) is the clinic owner.

She graduated with honours in dentistry from Queen Mary University of London in 2008 and subsequently completed a year as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Queens Hospital.

Her professional credentials include certifications in Botox/fillers and cosmetic orthodontics, and in 2018, she earned an MSc in dental implants from the University of Bristol.

Beyond her professional achievements, she enjoys spending time with her young family, travelling, keeping active, and her latest interest, crochet.

      Dr Khan graduated from Barts and the London school of medicine in 2021.

      He Subsequently completed a post graduate certificate in Implantology in 2023, further developing his expertise in advanced restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

      Dr khan is passionate about restoring confidence through healthy, beautiful smiles. His clinical interests include dental implants, composite bonding, full-mouth rehabilitations, and TMJ appliance therapy. He is committed to delivering high quality, patient centered care with precision and compassion.

      Shayban graduated from University of Birmingham in 2011.

      He then completed his foundation year with the West Midlands Deanery. In 2013 he obtained the diploma of Membership of Faculty of Dental Surgery awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons.

      Shayban completed his Endodontic specialist training at the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Institute achieving a distinction. In 2018 he obtained the Membership in Endodontics from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was subsequently registered as a “Specialist in Endodontics” by the General Dental Council.

      Dr Edyta Trochimczuk

      Dr Edyta Trochimczuk

      Edyta graduated from Medical University of Bialystok, Poland in 2001. She relocated to the UK in 2005, where she worked in private practice focusing on preventive care, non-invasive treatments and cosmetic dentistry.

      From 2007 she has developed a special interest in orthodontics. She went through extensive training in comprehensive orthodontics and in Six Month Smile, which enables her to treat children and adults using various appliances (removable, fixed and clear aligners).

      Edyta received her advanced cosmetic and implant training at The British Academy of Implant & Restorative Dentistry in Leeds. She is also a member of ITI (International Team for Implantology).

      She is a recognised Lumineers provider, which gives the patient a beautiful smile whilst limiting the structural damage to the teeth.

      With nearly 20 years of experience in general dental practice, she has worked in most fields of dentistry. She pays great attention to detail and increased precision to improve quality.

      Edyta aims to provide high quality dental care in a friendly, informal and relaxed atmosphere.

      In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, skiing and traveling.

      Ronaldo is known for his calm, reassuring manner and his ability to put nervous patients at ease. He understands that dental anxiety is very real, and he takes time to listen, explain procedures clearly, and ensure patients feel fully supported and in control at every stage of their treatment. He is nearing completion of his conscious sedation training, allowing him to further support anxious patients and provide a more relaxed dental experience.

      Committed to continuous professional development, Ronaldo has completed implant training and enjoys restoring both function and confidence for patients who require tooth replacement. He approaches all treatment with a strong focus on long-term oral health, precision, and attention to detail.

      Alongside general and restorative dentistry, Ronaldo has a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry, particularly clear aligner orthodontics . He enjoys helping patients achieve natural, harmonious smile improvements, always tailoring treatment plans to suit individual needs and facial aesthetics. For him, successful cosmetic dentistry starts with a healthy, stable foundation and results that enhance confidence.

      Friendly and approachable, he prides himself on building trusting relationships with his patients. Whether providing routine care, cosmetic enhancements, or advanced treatment, he is dedicated to delivering dentistry that is comfortable, ethical, and of the highest standard.

      Outside of dentistry, he enjoys staying active through regular gym training and football, helping him maintain a healthy balance.

      Julie has extensive experience as a Dental Hygienist working within NHS, Private Sector and the Community Dental Service in a hospital environment. During this period, she has gained an invaluable understanding of patient management and care and passionately believes that building trust is key to achieving positive patient outcomes.

      Julie is a member of The British Society of Hygiene and Therapy.
      Interests include horse riding, all things culinary and relaxing with family and friends

      Molly Tonge

      Hygienist/Dental Therapist

      Molly is our Dental Hygienist who qualified in September 2018. Since then, she has undertaken a degree in Oral Health Science which she completed in December 2019 to become a qualified Dental Therapist, enabling her to provide a wider range of skills, and qualitied service to patients helping them achieve a healthy smile.

      Molly is extremely passionate about dental hygiene and the importance of disease prevention. She enjoys talking to patients and setting treatments plans, treating anxious patients, and helping them alleviate their fears about attending. She feels great satisfaction seeing them return for further appointments.

      Beyond her work commitments, she dedicates time to physical fitness and wellness activities, as well as enjoying time with her two Siamese cats.

      Sally has been dental nursing since 1989. Originally from Nottingham, she has worked and
      lived in London, and has now lived in Southend for around 20 years, working at Focus since
      2011.
      Having worked as a practice manager in London, Sally is now the practice manager of
      Focus Dental Chalkwell.

      Sally loves to keep fit, spending time with family and dog walking on the seafront. Sally is also a Vegan and loves all animals

      Atiksha joined Focus Dental Southend in 2019. She began her career in dental nursing in 2007 accumulating a decade of private dentistry experience in London throughout various roles including management. Out of work she enjoys spending time with her family, friends as well as cooking and travelling.

      Courtney is an apprentice dental nurse who is currently working towards her level 3 Dental Nursing Practitioner qualification.

      She is enjoying developing her skills and knowledge within the dental field and is passionate about providing the best possible care for patients. Courtney is also gaining valuable hands-on experience as she continues to learn and grow in her role.

      Karen is our senior dental nurse with over 30 years’ experience. She still has a passion for her job and enjoys continually developing new skills with the increasing technology. She is very passionate about her profession and very enthusiastic in developing her skills further in all areas of dentistry.

      She loves spending time with her family/dog, reading and travelling in her spare time.
